Oliver’s retro sweater

Oliver’s retro is a classic and roomy raglan sweater worked top down in Half Fisherman’s Rib. It is designed to be worn with either side out.

The sweater is designed to have a positive ease of approx. 10cm/4″ at body.

B. Yoke length (measured at the back vertical from shoulder):

Gauge
26 sts x 56 rounds over 10cm x 10cm/4″ x 4″ with larger needles in (unstretched) Half Fisherman’s Rib after wash.
32 sts x 40 rounds over 10cm x 10cm/4″ x 4″ with smaller needles in (unstretched) 1×1 Rib.

Yarn
2 (2, 3, 3, 3) skeins of 100g/437y hand-dyed/plant-dyed yarn, 100% merino (superwashed), fingering, 400m/437y per 100g/3.53 oz.
Yarn alternative: 700 (800, 900, 1000, 1100) m/ 765 (874, 984, 1093, 1202) yd Yaku by CaMaRose, 100% superwash merino, fingering, 200m/219yd per 50g/1.76oz.

Note! Yardage is an estimate.
The worn light brown sample of the sweater is size 3-4 years and worked in off-white undyed yarn and afterward dip dyed in a pot with walnut shells. The sample with colorblocks is worked in merino yarn, too.

3.0mm/US 2½, 80cm/32″ circular needle for Magic Loop or 40cm/16″ and DPNs for body and sleeves.
2.5mm/US 1½, 80cm/32″ circular needle for Magic Loop or 40cm/16″ and DPNs for ribbings.
Removable stitch markers, stitch holders or scrap yarn, tapestry needle.
